Proof is in the photos...

First, forgive the quality of the photos. Second, know that this is kind of a hard post for me. As I may have said before, I started my journey of health several years ago. It was well before I connected or reconnected with many of the people that may read this blog. This weekend I went through some old clothes in my closet, looking for things that would fit and be okay for work as the pants I have been wearing are just getting too big to wear much longer.

While looking through clothes that fit, I realized that I was holding on to lots of things that do not fit. It was this weekend that I started to gather things to donate. I need to let go of that person I was as I do not intend to ever be back to that point. It was this weekend that I put on several of these article of clothes and while showing my husband how far I have come, he said he wanted to take a photo for me. I was not sure but I let him.

Now I am posting this photo for the world to see....well, not exactly the world but I do not have control over who sees it. It is now going to be out there for anyone to see. AND you know what, that is okay. I am not happy about where I was...but I am proud that I was able to turn it around and I know I am heading in the right direction and following the right path.

So, here it is...proof is in the photos. I still have a ways to go but I am getting there.

  1. Give yourself several Pats on the back! Definitely not an easy path, been there many times! I'm glad you posted these pics because that shows anyone can do this with the right frame of mind and harsh committment, which you have trained yourself to do! I don't know you personally, but want to commend you and tell you I'm very proud of you! Keep up the AWESOME WORK! I worked with Lauren when I was a member at the YMCA she came to! She's wonderful and she made a difference in my life as well! :0)

  3. That is a big difference so congrats on what you've achieved. Based on my own experience if you see how far you've gone, it gets easier because you know what you can achieve.

    1. It is hard but sometime it is important to take a moment and appreciate what you have done...and then get on doing the work you need to do...and that is what I think I did by posting this. Thanks for the comment.

  4. Congrats on so many levels, posting the photos, getting rid of the clothes, letting go of that person you were and never going back,etc...

  5. Wow! You are doing awesome. I always used to hang onto old clothes that no longer fit. Either they were too big or to small. As I have moved along in my journey I have gotten rid of anything that is too big for me. In the past, holding onto those things...it felt like I was giving myself permission to "grow" back into them if need be. It's hugely emotional giving up the past. Congratulations to you for moving on:)

    1. I agree. It is so cleansing to move on. I don't ever want to be complacent and think it is okay to move back towards that place I once was. I am having too much fun in my life now to take any steps back!
